Day 1: Freer | Sackler The Smithsonian’s Museums of Asian Art

Day 2: George Washington University

Freer | Sackler galleries are located on the National Mall, the grassy area between the Capitol and the Washington Monument, steps from the Smithsonian Metro stop. The Sackler Gallery is located at 1050 Independence Avenue, SW. The Freer Gallery of Art is located at Jefferson Drive at 12th Street, SW. The two museums are connected by an underground exhibition space. Handicap accessible entrance to the Freer Gallery is located on Independence Avenue at 12th Street, SW.

DAY 1: Those who are registered for regular seating in the Meyer Auditorium, please enter through the Independence Avenue entrance for.   For those who late-registered and are in overflow seating, please enter through the Ripley Center pavilion on the Mall side, and go down to the 3rd level and to the Lecture Hall.

Day 1 (January 11) Registration begins at 9:30 AM.

The use of public transportation, including taxis, in Washington is recommended as on-street parking is extremely limited and traffic is often heavy.

Registration begins at 10:30 AM.  Doors open at 10:15 AM.  Symposium events begin promptly at 11:00 AM in the Betts Theater.  Breakout spaces are on the 3rd and 4th floors.
